Dear Diary,
So we are in December - where has this past year gone??
In December most people reflect what they have been up to in the past year, and I'm doing the same. My past year has been at times the best it's ever been, but also the worst it could have been.
On the 22nd December last year, my grandad died and now we are coming up to the first anniversary of his death. I still find this very hard to deal with, especially as everyone has a count down to Christmas, to me its a constant reminder of how many days it is left until I didn't have my grandad anymore. I'm not being a scrooge and wanting people to stop, but it's no doubt going to take time for me to realise that the saddest part of my year is mostly made up with every other person enjoying the festivities.
Every year, I've gone to Christingle with my mum and my sister (my grandma joined us last year) at our local church, and no doubt this year will be the same. I love all the carols that are sung - mostly because I'm the person in the congregation who actually sings them really loud - people probably hate me! LOL.
This year also saw the biggest show that I've done. We performed at the Clapham Grand in London and I LOVED IT! It was soo much fun....loads of drama followed unfortunately which kind of put a downer on the whole night, but I was in my element. I loved doing that show and I knew that this was 100% what I wanted to do with my life. Ok my vocals weren't perfect (*cough*cough* Firework!! lol) but I had fun in the process.
My singles are currently being mastered - so hopefully they will be available on iTunes for download in the new year - oh well not Christmas number 1 this year!!
Speak soon,
Yazi May xxx
