Hey Hey!
Was anyone really dissappointed with the weekends episodes of The Voice? I really like the concept of the new singing competition but was really dissapointed with the standard of singing this weekend! Don't get me wrong, there were some amazing vocalists, but I couldn't help thinking that during the battles it became a competition of who could scream the loudest - mainly with the females.
Yes, I agree with people pushing their vocals and getting something out of it which they didn't know they could do….but the girls were doing runs which I don't think suited them or were physically able to do.
Who am I to judge…exactly, who am I? But like in a previous blog I said that everyone has an opinon they feel they need to share…I guess this is me sharing mine! I'm not pinpointing names and slating them, because I do think that The Voice really has talented singers on there, I just can't get over how much it was a screaming contest this weekend!
I'm all for Vince Kidd, I think he is amazing! Extra soft spot as he has the same sirname that I was born with (…changed my surname when I was 10, completely different story lol) I really hope he goes the whoooooole way!!
Also….don't forget One For You is available on iTunes for download, and if you don't have an iTunes account, you can also get it off Amazon…so NO EXCUSES :-)

Everyone has an opinion they feel they need to share....
Hey Hey!
So it's been a few days now since I've started telling everyone that One For You is now available for download! Exciting times! I don't know yet how many downloads there have been, but I'm sure I'll find out in a few weeks or so :-)
A promotional pack has been made of me which is being sent out to industry contacts...so it's the big will they or won't they like me!!!
All my friends have been sharing the link to iTunes as well which is really kind of them, I'm getting so much support it's really nice! One of my friends even promised she would work behind the bar of a pub if we get it on the download chart!!! Love it! - I reckon a lot of males would be downloading purely for this outcome haha!
There was a comment left on a facebook status from a guy I don't know who said that he listened to a couple of lines of the song and decided not to download it. I know it's not a bad comment and I know people could be so much ruder.. But reading it really hit me. It hit home that not everyone is going to like the music, my voice or maybe just not like me. Which is fair enough... everyone has an opinion, but reading it really did open my eyes to what I could expect from the future if my career is a success.
You might think I'm crazy for writing this blog entry because it might put doubt in other peoples minds, but this is all part of the journey of becoming a professional singer... I'm basically putting myself out there to be under constant scrutiny of every aspect of my life.
Magazines highlight celebrities flaws and put them in the public eye for everyone to see. I'm guilty of reading it, or looking at the picture and judging. Now (although on completely massively smaller scale) I'm experiencing it on the other foot!..or is the saying the other shoe??
It's a known fact that if you have a good experience you may tell 4 people, but if you have a bad experience you tell 10 people. I'm finding that when reading people's comments I'm forgetting all the positive feedback I've had and focusing on one persons opinion. I think I need to Man Up!!
There isn't any point dwelling on the situation, everyone has an opinion and they are completely entitled to it, I'm not disputing that.... I just hope other people form their own opinions. Everyone has different taste, that's life!
One For You, is about the people who supported me and encouraged me and also to inspire other people to follow the dreams that they can achieve... This One's For You :-)

I'm Loving This Twilight.... :-)
Hey Hey,
I've become addicted to Twilight…and yes, I am TEAM EDWARD! I don't think I ever had a moment of insanity and started rooting for Jacob (although I do love Taylor Lautner!).
Anyway…before I become wildly distracted by the thought of Robert Pattinson as a Vampire, I'll get back on my point! I was really inspired by Breaking Dawn Pt 1 when I watched it at the cinema and decided that the next song I write would be based on my interpretation of Twilight….
I've always known the importance of music within films as it can completely change a setting or a mood or the anticipation of what will happen next. Scary films have a distinctive nature to them, as to childrens Disney films which are happy and bouncy!
I see my song being quite dark, especially as it all kicks off with the Volturi in Breaking Dawn part 2, but also powerfull and strong to reflect Bella as a vampire. I've written my lyrics and with the help of a local studio, am going to start putting the music down. I would like to encorporate Bella's song in some part of the song. Obviously this song will not be for release as it may have elements of previous music in it and I don't want to get sued for copyright haha!! This is purely for entertainment purposes!
Writing a soundtrack for a film would be something that I would love to be given the opportunity to do….to sing it, would be amazing also! I imagine that the official soundtrack for Twilight would have been chosen a long time ago… *sad face*!
Any way, check out the website of the local studio who are helping me do this project…. http://theroadhousestudio.moonfruit.com/

To audition or not to audtion? Thats is the question, but what's the answer?
Hey,
It's been a while since I last wrote so I've got soo much to fill you in with!!
On Saturday, I went to the Xfactor 2011 live tour, I saw it at the o2 with my sister. I was really impressed with the standard of (some of) the singers! Amelia Lily, wow, that girl is amazing And the risk, well not only are they a pleasure to listen to - but also not bad to look at either! Others, no names mentioned but a certain Lady Gaga wanna be, well in my opinion the vocals lacked and they concentrated more on looking like a freak rather than singing. But hey, if that's how they like to be portrayed, good on them for sticking to their roots!
I've got the debate at the moment whether to enter for xfactor 2012…other than the fact the audition falls on one of my best friends birthday outings and me missing the beginning of the 23 tequila challenge, I'd be worried of being another Xfactor hopefull who ruins any chance of being taken seriously in the music industry. Don't get me wrong, some amazing artists have come out of Xfactor and gone on to have successful careers, and not to mentioned signed by the biggest man in the music industry, but so have others who although they have brilliant vocals, gets a one hit wonder and end up working in a dead end job. Do I really want to brand myself as another Xfactor reject (we're working on the basis that if I don't win it lol) - and have a quick fix in to the music industry, or do I want to work my butt off and get gigs, and make people believe in me and watch me grow as a performer from day one?
Aarrgh I don't know what to do. Part of me really wants to go, because if I don't, I'll always be thinking, what if. Could that me be on stage at the o2 next year?
I have heard that Xfactor are letting auditionees sing their own songs this year to actually bring in talented artists, so this could be a big opportunity for me to get my music heard. At the end of the day, that's what I want. People to listen to and to relate to my music.
I need help. I knew this proffession would be hard, and I've had so many people telling me that the chances of "making it" are slim. I know that. However,I also think that a lot of people can relate to my lyrics - I've also have lots of people telling me that all aspiring singers think that too.
If I become successful through Xfactor, it's almost like a guranteed path your career will take, you release one song, dissapear for a year making an album, come back when the next series starts and hope your career takes off. I want to make my album, release a song, if it's a hit, release another one straight away to keep the Buzz. In my head it sounds so simple, but I know it's not.
I guess it all comes down to one question, to audition or not to audition??
What do you think?
